For many dancers, the search for the right music tool is part of everyday training. There is often a lack of specific functions that are needed in dance sport. Software developer and former ballroom dancer Marcus Gossner is now working on a solution: an audio player developed specifically for the needs of the dance community.

Frustrated by the lack of options on the market that enable high-quality time-stretching (tempo change without pitch change), simple operation or flexible playlist management for multiple users. The project was born out of necessity, as current players often do not offer the functions that are needed in everyday dance sport. An initial prototype of the new player has already been in successful practical use for some time and has proven its usefulness.

The planned core functions include

  • Precise time-stretching: change the song tempo without changing the pitch at high quality.
  • Simple operation: Focus on intuitive handling during training stress.
  • Flexible playlists: Creation and management for individuals or groups.
  • Song ratings: Find suitable tracks more quickly.

Your opinion is needed!

To ensure that the player meets the real needs of the dance community, Gossner launched an online survey. “I want to understand what dancers really need and where current solutions are reaching their limits,” he explains.

Take part and win: As a thank you for taking part, 10 Casa musica vouchers worth €20 each will be raffled off among all those who leave their email address at the end.
